What is it?
The 2010 Summer Grow-A-Long is an online workshop where we learn some easy, fun vintage skills during the summer months.  No garden or experience required!
We’ll all grow the same 3 plants, and then use our ‘harvest’ to make delicious food, drinks and beauty treatments.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a garden – you can grow these plants in containers or a window box too!
Why am I hosting a Grow-A-Long?
In my pursuit of rediscovering vintage skills, I found that many projects require fresh herbs and flowers.  Of course I could buy them at the store … but it’s much, much cheaper (and more true to the ‘vintage’ spirit) to pick them fresh!
I live in the city, so I can’t wander into a nearby field to forage for wildflowers.  I also don’t have a lot of time or space (or desire!) to plant a full garden.  But last year I tried container gardening for the first time, and I was hooked!
Through the Grow-A-Long, I’ll teach you how to grow a few really useful plants in a small space.  Then we’ll learn how to use them in a variety of ways – from eating, drinking, and pampering!

What do you need?
* Space for 3 large flowerpots, a windowbox, or a small sunny corner of a garden.
* About 1 hour per week to work on your plants throughout the summer, maybe 2-3 hours during the few weeks when we’re making the projects.  (As an online class, you can work it around your schedule!)
* To buy the 3 plants we’ll grow as seeds/seedlings and any supplies for the projects.
